The Rockford Record Crawl was established in 2014 by the Rockford IL stores:
Culture Shock Clothing & Records, Toad Hall Books and Records, Kate’s Pie Shop and Record Store, and CD Source. Together, the stores focus their energy on “Collaboration Over Competition” showing the nation the stronghold of local record stores Rockford Illinois has to offer and encouraging their combination of customers to BUY LOCAL and INDEPENDENT when shopping for vinyl.
On one special day in mid-October, during the Rockford Record Crawl, each unique record store provides different mega-specials, free all-ages live music, door prizes, refreshments, and a big party throughout the day. If you find yourself at all 4 record stores, you may be eligible to win a combined grand prize worth $100 in records!
Through the rest of the year, the collaborators of the Rockford Record Crawl work together to provide a creative energy in their city by throwing events for vinyl lovers of all ages and genres.
In February 2015, the Rockford Record Crawl brought the screening of a national documentary called “Records Collecting Dust” to the Nordlof Center and raised $500 for Bandwagon 2, an endowment set up to fund middle school band programs throughout the city of Rockford, IL.
Rockford Record Crawl 2016 is being planned now. Keep up with updates on our Facebook pages.
We truly THANK YOU for buying local and independent.
